Mini Pilgrimage / Forest Bathing

One of my spiritual teachers defines a pilgrimage as, "a journey we make to court holy disruption in our lives ... taking us out of our habitual patterns and expectations and breaking us open to more expansive ideas of ourselves, our callings in life, and of the Divine." The journey I invite you to take with me on this mini-pilgrimages is the first step in the practice of revealing your own Spiritual nature in the midst of ordinary life. As you spend time with the Divine in Nature and practice tools that allow you to expand the roots of your spiritual nature you will gain the skills and confidence to walk with courage, strength and an emerging sense of grace into your own best life no matter what is happening around you.
The Japanese coined the term “forest bathing,“ which is: “taking in, in all of our senses, the forest atmosphere.” I believe that the benefits don’t have to happen in a forest, but rather anywhere we can drop into Nature and explore it with all of our senses … including in our own backyards.

A note on Spirituality: I do not belong to a specific religious dogma. However, I believe we each can have direct experience with Spirit, and that the experience (although there may be similarities) will be as different as we are. I believe that Spirit speaks to you in the language most meaningful to you. This could be through sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, a sense of "knowing", through symbols, a kinesthetic or somatic experience in your body, or maybe all of the above. My work reflects this belief, and all the guidance I provide seeks to connect you with your own experience. So although I will be leading guided meditations, I (we) will not be "praying" together. You are welcome to pray silently as part of this process if that is meaningful to you, but prayer is not an official part of this body of work. |
